Quality after-school childcare for children attending primary schools in the Westborough and Park Barn areas of Guildford, Surrey.
The Westy Club offers reliable after-school childcare for 5-11 year olds. The Club is based at Westborough CP School, and we offer an escort service from Barnwood, St Joseph's and Westwood Park Schools. Children from other schools are welcome if their parents can make suitable arrangements for transport.
Parents use the Club for many different reasons. Most are working or studying, while others find that their children can enjoy activities which would be difficult at home - for example large-scale craft activities. All know that their children are enjoying themselves, safe and well cared-for.
Children at the Westy Club enjoy a wide range of activities. Making toast and cooking are very popular! So are board games, construction toys, cutting, sticking and painting, modelling with junk and clay, reading and relaxing, outdoor play, dressing up and role play. We have plenty of space for all these activities.
Up to 16 children can come to the Westy Club each day, and we always have at least two playworkers to care for them. A supervisor works every day with a team of regular helpers. Our paid staff all have experience with this age range, and have or are working for qualifications in child-care.
We started the Westy Club in April 1995 with initial funding from Surrey Training and Enterprise Council. We are a non-profit making concern, run by a small voluntary management committee, with paid staff to care for the children.
Our annual registration fee is currently £5 per family, and we have a daily charge which is kept as low as possible through fund-raising, sponsorship and grants. If you use the Westy Club and claim certain benefits you may find that some of your income can be disregarded in working out your entitlement - ask for details.
